Because we are talking to and selling to real people. Human nature is to push back, think about it, and then decide for ourselves. Why would that be any different for wanting to buy a product?
Sometimes we expect people to just want to buy what we have because it's amazing and the best thing on the market. Which honestly, it might be, but your potential customer does not know that. You need to have the knowledge to teach them about the product and why it would benefit them.
I love the use of the online space and social media to market my products. I love using video and stories to help my customers out.
